A typical preschool session............

The children arrive, leave coats and bags on their named pegs and enter the playroom. They are welcomed and encouraged to self register and then move directly in to free play, with a little help to get them started if necessary.

In accordance with our weekly planning there are a good selection of activities set up around the room, on table tops and the floor. Other resources are also available for the children to self select.

We operate a system called ‘free flow’ allowing children access to our part covered garden throughout the session come rain or shine. Fresh drinking water is available throughout and a snack bar runs for approximately an hour encouraging healthy living with good hygiene practices, fruit and vegetable preparation, washing up and an emphasis to socialisation.

Towards the end of the session children are encouraged to tidy up and finally a circle for stories, discussions, songs and rhymes and that firm favourite “Our Song”
